Requirements for appointment:-
- An MBChB degree and MMed in Orthopaedics/General Surgery, MSc. Human Anatomy or its equivalent from an accredited and recognized University. (A PhD will be an added advantage); The Master’s degree shall have an equivalent in Fellowship Training recognized by the Medical Council of Kenya.
OR
- An MSc and PhD in Human Anatomy or its equivalent from an accredited and recognized University for non – medical doctors;
- At least three (3) years teaching experience at University level or in research or in industry;
- Must be registered to the relevant professional body and have a current valid practising license (where applicable);
- Must have demonstrable proficiency in computer applications.
Responsibilities
- Teach and asses courses in MBChB and post graduate programs;
- Supervise postgraduate students;
- Initiate, promote and participate in research projects;
- Attend and actively participate in seminars, workshops and conference in relevant fields;
- Actively participate in planning, development, implementation and evaluation of curricula in the department;
- Attend and actively participate in departmental and School Board meetings and other activities;
- Conduct community service and initiate linkages;
- Any other official duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
